On the Nightstand
July 20, 2010
These are the results of a short and totally, unscientific survey of the items Blue Ridge Branch staff members are in the process of reading. Mysteries dominate. Here are the answers to “what’s on your nightstand?”
“I’m not reading anything right now. I’m watching hunting videos!”
Okay, so he’s not one of the mystery readers.
“A bunch of genealogy books, one Randy Wayne White book, some lip balm and a little dust.”
Randy Wayne White wrights, I mean, writes mysteries, set in Florida.
“The Ghost and Mrs. McClure by Alice Kimberly. It’s good. Surprisingly good. The ghost is a detective who died.”
Surprised because she doesn’t usually like ghost stories.
“Christina Dodd’s new one, In Bed with the Duke. I'm also reading My Soul to Save by Rachel Vincent, the sequel to My Soul to Take. What Angels Fear by C.S. Harris, its the first in a series. Drive a long way, so I'm listening to The Spy by Clive Cussler, third in a series which begins with The Chase and is followed by The Wrecker. Narrated by Scott Brick. He’s excellent.”
These are actually on the desk, in the car, and on the nightstand.
Use Mymcpl.org to add some thrills or chills to your bedtime reading. Or hunting videos, if you prefer. Call us at the Blue Ridge Branch if you need assistance. (816) 761-3382.
