New Year's Reading Resolutions
December 09, 2011
I know it’s hard to believe, but 2011 is just about over. Maybe it’s just because I’m a boring ol’ grownup, but this year seems to have flown (flown, I tell you!). And now, I’m starting that most important of librarian-y end-of-year traditions: deciding my reading list for the new year.
Of course, I don’t map out my entire reading list a year in advance, but I do have a handful of books I intended to read (but never did) in 2011. So far on my "to read" list are these ten titles:
- The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling
- 1984 by George Orwell
- The Séance by John Harwood
- Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
- Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry
- Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
- Hallowe’en Party by Agatha Christie
- Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe
- Riders of the Purple Sage by Zane Grey
- Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick
Have you read any of these? What did you think? What books are you looking forward to reading in 2012?

Freak the Mighty
You HAVE to read Freak the Mighty. It's one of those "awwww" books that's genuinely funny and smart, too.
re: Freak the Mighty
I look forward to it! I've heard good things.
