New Year's Kitchen Revolution
January 02, 2013
Ok, so we all make resolutions… and fail to keep them. We set such lofty goals for ourselves that generally include doomed words like: diet, exercise, and organization.
This year I have tried to avoid those ill-fated buzz words and set out on a kitchen adventure with a twist. I want to create a healthier kitchen for myself and my husband, so I have set myself on the task of whipping up 150 brand new - never before seen in my kitchen- recipes that I will then blog about. Now I know 150 recipes in a year doesn’t sound all that lofty, but when you stop and think about it, that works out to about 3 new recipes I have never attempted before each week. Now take into account that my husband and I each put in a 40 plus work week, and we live in an era where opening a can or box of something is ever so tempting after a long day… that is actually a bit of dedication.
So this is my journey, to set out to tell the story of food and explore the world one fork-full at a time. I am absolutely not going to call this a resolution or a diet… after all, I don’t want to fail right out of the starting gate. I am calling it my kitchen revolution, and it is my mission to feed the people I love new and exciting things that will make them a little healthier, even if for just one meal.
Check out some of the books I requested from the Library to get me started and discover for yourself all the tasty thing you never knew were out there.
