August 17, 2010
Are you excited for all the movies coming out based on your favorite books this year? Here are a few that have come out recently, or are scheduled to come out in the next year.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World -- based on the graphic novel by Bryan Lee O'Malley, it charts the harrowing adventures of Scott Pilgrim, who must defeat his crush's ex-boyfriends to win her heart.
Beastly -- a retelling of Beauty and the Beast in modern New York by Alex Flinn.
Flipped -- a unique novel told from two perspectives, by Wendelin Van Draanen
Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging -- a take on Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging, which charts the wacky antics of Georgia and her friends, by Louise Rennison.
Speak -- a quintessential teen novel, adapted by Lifetime, about finding your voice after rape, by Laurie Halse Anderson.
Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac -- released in Japan earlier this year, I have high hopes that it will make its way to the U.S. A great take on a not-so-classic romance by Gabrielle Zevin.
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo -- a critically acclaimed novel by Swedish author Stieg Larsson, this film is a little dark, but a great story. Be sure to check out the sequels as well!
Everyone knows the book is always better than the movie, so find out for yourself. Check one out today!
