New Christmas Song Favorites

December 17, 2012

For all of you obsessive (and non-obsessive) Christmas music fans, I have found some new favorites this year. I rarely find new Christmas music that I enjoy; I mean nothing tops "White Christmas," right? But, seriously, some of these are REALLY good. Here is my new favorites list:

Artist:  Francesca Battistelli
Album:  Christmas
Songs: Christmas Is, Christmas Dreams, Heaven Everywhere, The Christmas Song
Defense:  Yes, four amazing songs on the same CD! Some of these songs are upbeat, and some are soft and sweet. This artist truly does a great job of describing the things we cherish about the holidays. To prove my point, here is a quick line from the song "Christmas Is":  "Christmas is music and family in town. Christmas is Snoopy and Charlie Brown. It’s anticipating that snow’s going to fall and praying for someplace to park at the mall!"

Artist(s): Go Fish
Album: Christmas with a Capital C
Songs: We Three Kings, Joy to the World
Defense: The guys in this group are quite talented. They sound great together, and their modern versions of old favorites are upbeat and fun.

In case you haven’t tried it, make sure to check out Freegal on our website for free downloads! There are definitely some good Christmas songs/albums there, too! For example, Third Day’s "Christmas Offering," Martina McBride’s "White Christmas," and Mariah Carey’s "Merry Christmas."

Good luck with avoiding that dreadful hippopotamus song this year!
