Need eBook Help?
June 29, 2012
The Kansas City Star had an interesting article in last Friday's issue on eBooks. It touches on a lot of the thorny issues libraries face when trying to acquire titles, especially in regard to licensing and financial restrictions. You can read it on the KansasCity.com website, or go to the Kansas City Star Electronic Edition available through our Online Resources (Just go to the June 22nd edition in the back issues, and it's below the fold on A1.).
Even though this may sound like a bit of a downer, MCPL is absolutely committed to providing our customers with a large and ever-expanding selection of digital titles. We offer eBooks through OverDrive, and audiobook downloads through both OverDrive and OneClickdigital. We are also here to help with any technical issues or questions you may have. Just call the Excelsior Springs Branch at 816.630.6721 or come in with your device, and we will be happy to help. You can also set up an appointment with an eBook expert here for more intensive help.
(Nook users: you do still need a computer to transfer the titles to your eReader, so if you have a laptop, bring it along. If not, we can always help explain the steps involved.)
Happy Reading!
