My Name is Cheryl, and I'm a Foodaholic!
May 18, 2012
I don’t really know if there is a support group for foodaholics, but I don’t think I’d join one even if such a thing existed. I’m a foodie, and I admit my addiction. If the first step in conquering your addiction is admitting you have a problem, I guess I’m not there yet.
I got a great birthday present from my husband this year – a nine week cooking course at the Kansas City Culinary Center. (I won’t say what birthday it was, but it ended in "0.") OMG, I had so much fun. I guess it’s the gift that keeps on giving, because our menu choices and meal quality took a dramatic jump.
I’d like to share with you some of the cookbooks from the Library that I liked so much that I actually bought them – and I rarely buy books. My favorite one is Food & Wine Quick from Scratch Italian Cookbook. My favorite recipe from this one is the Pasta Bolognese with Polenta. Another favorite I first reviewed at MCPL is Perfect One-Dish Dinners by Pam Anderson. I really like this one because each main dish includes a suggestions for a first course and a dessert. Last, but not least, is Falling Off the Bone by Jean Anderson. It’s from this book that learned to make great Posole.
All of these are available here at MCPL.
Foodaholics, unite!
