Some of my fondest memories of childhood were visits to the library. I would walk four blocks to get there. When I opened the heavy oak doors, I entered a cool, silent sanctuary. I loved any book that was on display, and always felt special sitting in the child-sized chairs. My library card was just a piece of paper, but it was a passport to unknown worlds. Things have changed a little since then, well, okay, a lot!
Libraries are still a magical place to be. Check out the one near you.
