My Kingdom For a Purse….

May 11, 2012

A few weeks ago, when I blogged about the joys of moving and how much I dread getting rid of things, I casually mentioned that I happen to love purses. Well, the truth eventually came out. I don’t just love purses; I am admittedly obsessed with them.

After last count (even after the purging I’ve done for the move), I have close to fifty. To me, this seems like a reasonable number. Others, however, respond with disbelief.

I cannot overemphasize the importance of having a good purse. The legion of handbags I own range from big to small, zippered to buttoned, or even long straps and short straps. I literally have one for every occasion. Alas, this does not keep me from buying more.

I try to be as thrifty about my purse-spending as possible. I’ll check out the local thrift stores and make good use of consignment shops. And, I absolutely love to buy from eBay.  I’ve even been known to swap bags with friends or family when I get the chance.

While many may find my obsession silly, insipid, or stupid, I say everyone has a hobby.  And while I am aware of my obsession, I make no apologies for it either. Perhaps one day I’ll be forced into purse rehab, but until then, I’m going to enjoy the time I have with the bags I’ve got!

I'm right there with you! I

I'm right there with you! I owned over 100 until I decided to adopt my babies out! I know that other women are enjoying them now...and leaving room for me to bring new ones home!
