My Biggest Goal of 2011
December 30, 2010
The question I have heard more than once this week is "Do you make New Year's resolutions?" To answer their question, yes I do. My biggest goal of 2011? I have been considering this for several months, and now I'm going to do it. Monday, January 3rd, I'm turning off my cable TV. Now, the goal - keeping it turned off until July 2012 when my favorite city in the world, London, hosts the Summer Olympics.
18 months with no cable TV! That may prove to be a very big challenge for me, but I have so much I want to do. I'm actually kind of excited about having all the time I would have spent watching TV to do other things. For example, I plan on spending this winter reading. I have several books started, so I need to finish them. Plus, I have a few more I would like to read before the winter is over including Decision Points by George W. Bush and Book Lust to Go by Nancy Pearl.
I'll keep you updated on my "new" life with no TV. We'll see ... it may very well be one of the best decisions I've ever made.
