Mrs. Darcy?
January 21, 2011
Don’t tell my husband this, but I am one of the thousands of women who secretly refer to themselves as "Mrs. Darcy" from time to time. If you have to ask yourself who Mr. Darcy is, then this blog is not for you.
Darcy, whether you’re a fan of the Colin Firth version via 1995 (my personal favorite) or the 2005 version featuring Matthew MacFadyen, is the iconic, romantic hero. Those of us who’ve read Pride and Prejudice will tell you he gets better every time you read the book. Tomorrow (January 22 at 2 PM), we’ll be celebrating him. Well okay, we’ll be celebrating Jane Austen. Bring your favorite teacup and your love for Fitzwilliam Darcy.
We’ll have a little afternoon tea, introduce you to some new "Austenesque" books and movies, and we’ll even be joined by the National Jane Austen Society. Join us for Tea with Jane Austen. We hope to see you there!
