Harry Potter... I know you have heard those words over and over again these past few months. Some probably find them superbly annoying. For many fans however, they are reminders. I am newcomer to the Wizarding World having not read the books until after college. For years, I didn’t understand the draw and definitely not the hype. But once I started reading, I started to get it. Harry Potter exists in a world of magic and fantasy so completely different from our own. But even though he faces dragons and evil wizards throughout the whole series, he still has friends he can rely on and people who fight for him.
I got to express my love of Harry Potter as Blue Springs North hosted the Harry Potter Extravaganza this past Thursday, July 14th. Guests wore costumes, made wands, created their own magical creatures, and "transfigured" with animal balloons and origami. For those of us who have only been involved a few years, or those who have just started, and of course, those who have been around since the beginning, the celebrations allowed Blue Springs fans to enter the Wonderful World of Harry Potter.
I am going to miss new Harry Potter book and movie releases. But maybe, when I get nostalgic, I’ll start over again. Or check out Pottermore.com… either way, Harry Potter and his magical world will live on.
