Mostly True Stories or Just Hot Air
July 06, 2011
Picture books are by far one of my favorite books to read as I peruse the library. They’re often quirky and offer different points of view. For example, Hot Air: The (Mostly) True Story of the First Hot-Air Balloon Ride by Marjorie Priceman, tells the story of the first hot air balloon ride from the passengers perspective. Those historic passengers just happen to be a rooster, sheep and duck.
Did you know you can take your own hot air balloon ride? This Friday at the Great Mall of the Great Plains in Olathe, KS, the Great Midwest Balloon Fest takes place! The festival runs July 8th through July 10th. More details can be found at http://www.greatmidwestballoonfest.org/.
Why not grab a book and enjoy the ride!
