October 11, 2010
The Book Club held on September 20 was highly anticipated. The title, The Lady and the Unicorn by Tracy Chevalier, had been previously blogged by a fellow co-worker as one of her favorite reads.
This book received mixed reviews ranging from "I didn’t care for the choice of language, so didn’t like it" to "I enjoyed it very much". In my experience, receiving a unanimous decision one way or the other has never happened. This is pretty much the status quo at Book Club as opinions do vary, which of course makes for lively discussions.
However, all members were unanimous in agreeing that the conclusion to our meeting was fun. A drawing for a bookmark was held with the winner being faithful member, Carolyn Hepler pictured above.
Join us October 18 when Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen will be discussed, and another drawing for a bookmark will be held. You could be the next winner!
