Meet the Kellermans
March 20, 2013
The Kellermans are a true literary family. Jonathan Kellerman and his wife, Faye, are both best-selling authors of mystery and crime novels. As if having two acclaimed writers in the family isn’t enough, their oldest son, Jesse, has also written five successful novels.
Jonathan’s first novel, When the Bough Breaks, was published in 1985 and introduced his popular protagonist, Alex Delaware. It became a New York Times bestseller and won the Edgar Allan Poe and Anthony Boucher Awards for Best First Novel. Jonathan has published at least one best-selling book every year since his debut. His latest thriller, Guilt, is the newest Alex Delaware novel.
Faye’s first book, The Ritual Bath, was published in 1986 and featured her popular mystery couple, Peter Decker and Rina Lazarus. It won the Macavity Award for Best First Novel. Gun Games is Faye’s most recent Decker and Lazarus mystery and another one, The Beast, is coming out in August 2013. She has also written a young adult novel, Prism, with her daughter, Aliza.
Jesse has won several awards for his writing as well. In 2003, he won the Princess Grace Award, which is given to America’s most promising playwright. His latest novel, Potboiler, was recently nominated for the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Novel of the Year.
