Meet the Edgerton Staff: Kayla
June 03, 2013
This month, I had the pleasure of interviewing our page, Kayla, for the Employee of the Month Blog.
Q: What position do you hold?
A: I am a page!
Q: What are your daily tasks?
A: I shelve books, read shelves, and keep the Library neat and orderly as best as I can, as well as being available for helping patrons with anything they need.
Q: How long have you been working for MCPL?
A: I’ve worked for Mid-Continent for two-and-a-half years now, since December of 2010.
Q: What do you especially enjoy about your job?
A: I love being around the people and making their library experience a good one. I’ve always loved books and learning, so this job is the perfect fit for me, and every time I work, I try to show my enthusiasm.
Q: What changes have you seen over the past couple of years?
A: There have been a lot of changes in the system – eReaders, many more blogs, and a much more efficient system of sorting books, as well as an improvement in the prizes offered through our Summer Reading Program. I’ve also been impressed in the expansion and focus in the anime and graphic novel sections.
Along with being our page, Kayla is a junior at Missouri Western State University for a B.F.A. in Graphic Design.
