When you’re in high school, sometimes, the only thing you can think about is how it just makes you insane. You want to get out as soon as humanly possible, which I understand. In high school, I enjoyed almost every moment of it… but then there were those times when I could care less whether I flipped burgers or invented the hoverboard. (I have three years left.) And yet, college is even more stressful than its predecessor.
Study? On my own time? Are you kidding me?
Getting through any kind of schooling is never as easy as you imagine it during the summer. And, suddenly, summer ends, and you have to go back to the wearisome monotony that is school. That is… unless you are going into the workforce, which is an entirely new system of wearisome monotony. But college can sometimes be the most expensive, worthwhile, amazingly-awful torture the world has yet to come up with.
How do we deal?
At times, you hear people mentioning just how dirt poor college students are. If you are one, then you know just how true that statement is. I am a college student focusing on an art degree, so along with nursing majors, I get it. Sometimes, it can be rough just trying to buy that movie you love. This is where you can make a choice: Spend money or don’t.
It seems like an obvious question. Why spend money when you can get away with saving it up for something more important than a movie (Even though that new movie seems like the only thing worth it in life right now)?
