MASL Announces the 2012-2013 Award Nominees!
December 15, 2011
It's time! It's awards season, folks. We librarians get pretty psyched about this time of year, trying to decide which books may win big! If you are yawning already, I promise to make it worth your while with two words: Truman and Gateway. That's right, the 2012-2013 nominees have been announced!
Kansas City holds a metro-wide librarian reading challenge for juvenile and young adult books in January and February, which is just perfect for someone who wants to read all the new award winners and nominees! I will officially put this out there; suggest a book to me in the next 15 days, and I will put it on my "to read" list for the upcoming competition. I will even write a review of one of your recommendations on this blog. If you knew how long my "to read" list already was, you might be more impressed with my offer :)
Now, what you've all been waiting for...and the nominees are: *drumroll*

Halo by Adornetto is officially on my "to read" list for the next couple of months. You are my first (and only) response, so expect a blog about your title soonish :)

I'm not sure whether you
I'm not sure whether you meant a reading suggestion from the nominees lists or something random, but Halo by Alexandra Adornetto is pretty good. There's also a sequel out called Hades. There's quite a bit of romance, but a nice paranormal element too.
