Make a Splash at the Camden Point Branch with the Summer Reading Program
June 09, 2010
The Make a Splash Summer Reading Program is off to a running start at the Camden Point Branch. Kids are checking our books, reading them, and logging their time read on the computer. Did you ever wonder what the most checked-out children’s books are? We did. So, we check and here is what we found out.
The most checked-out Juvenile Easy book on our shelf is: Arthur’s Birthday by Marc Brown. The most checked-out Board Book on our shelf is Tyrannosaurus Rex, which means we must have some dinosaur lovers out there. The most checked book from our Reader 1, Reader 2, and Reader 3 section is a Reader 3 book titled Ghost Town at Sundown by Mary Pope Osborn. And our most checked-out Caldecott winner book is none other than Officer Buckle and Gloria by Peggy Rathmann.
In the older children’s section, the most checked-out Juvenile book is Yeh-Shen: a Cinderella Story From China retold by Ai-Ling Louie. The Case for Christ: a Journalist’s Personal Investigation of the Evidence of Jesus by Lee Strobel is the most checked-out in Juvenile Non-fiction.
The young adults have been reading as well. New Young Adult books are on the new shelf for six months and the most checked-out New Young Adult book is Ice by Sarah Beth Durst. The most checked-out young adult book is (drum roll please) The Curious Incident of the Dog In the Night-time by Mark Haddon. Bleach by Tite Kubo is the most checked-out graphic novel.
Enjoy reading everyone
