Make a New Year's Resolution To READ!
January 04, 2012
Every year around this time, I make new promises to myself - to lose weight, to get organized, to jump out of airplane, skydive, and volunteer. A lot of those good intentions go by the wayside as I find myself at the end of January, eating bon-bons on the couch while watching a workout video. Instead of setting myself up for failure, I should commit to doing something I LOVE—yes, read more romance novels! Now this I can do.
MCPL is offering a challenge and incentive for you to read 6-in-12, finish 6 books in 12 months. I know you can do it! Once you’ve finished a book checked out from the library, go to the 6-in-12 page and log the title or come into your local branch to submit a list. For every title logged, you get an entry to win a Kindle, which will be drawn for at the beginning of next year. There is no minimum or limit to the number of books you read, only what you want to do.
This year, I’ll be working out my mental muscles, lounging on my chaise with my bon-bons and a romance novel proud of my accomplishments. Tally-ho!
