Magazines Are Here to Stay!
November 19, 2010
Contrary to popular misperception, readership in magazines is actually increasing according to Magazine Publishers of America (MPA). The popularity of the internet hasn’t vanquished the magazine reader. According to MPA, 96% of adults under the age of 35 are among the most dedicated readers.
Even though you can subscribe to digital subscriptions that you can download to a digital device, I still prefer the printed media over a digital gadget that you hold in the palm of your hand. I enjoy the variety of magazines Raytown Branch has to offer. From Better Homes and Gardens, Cooking with Paula Dean, Cosmopolitan, Forbes, Ladies Home Journal, People, Publishers Weekly, Time, and Vanity Fair, just to name a few.
I have a collection of favorite magazines that I enjoy reading, but one I have to read first is Reader’s Digest. I enjoy reading the inspired stories from the lives of real people. I enjoy being entertained as well being informed.
The library offers a myriad of electronic periodicals in our Research databases to help you with any research subject you are interested in. You can also enjoy the printed magazines from our vast Periodical selection.
If you enjoy holding a magazine in your hands, you can check out back issues of your favorite titles.
