Lunar Chronicles: Cinder and Scarlet

Last year, the brilliant Marissa Meyer released Cinder. This book is based on the Cinderella fairy tale and is set in a dystopian society in New Beijing, China. Her fate becomes entwined with Prince Kai. They must race against time to avoid an intergalactic conflict. Her second book, Scarlet, was released in February. It is based on Little Red Riding Hood.

This book introduces us to Scarlet and Wolf, while allowing us to keep up with the adventures of Cinder and Prince Kai.
 
Some books recommended by Marissa are Goose Girl by Shannon Hale, Legend by Marie Lu, and Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake.
