Looks Like the Holidays...Are Still Weeks Away

December 03, 2011

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here. We’ve got the old wreaths hanging between windows, the lovely Christmas tree adorned with soft glowing lights spiraling around from branch to branch (not to brag but it’s quite spectacular), and we can’t forget the shiny presents sitting beneath this old tree of ours (sorry, I get distracted by shiny things pretty easily).

While the holidays are all good and fun, it’s only the beginning of December. We've got a couple weeks until we can celebrate. Now the question is, "What can one do until then?" Here are some lovely happenings at the Parkville Branch this month that may just help you answer that particular riddle:

  • Mr. Stinky Feet joins us in the branch on December 7th at 7 p.m. for a funderful holiday celebration of singing, dancing, and of course, stinky feet for the whole family.
  • Toddler Storytimes are pretty fantastic, and this month we have some nifty themes: Bells on Dec. 5th, Holiday Lights on Dec. 12th, Christmas Surprises on Dec. 19th, and no Toddler story time Dec. 26th (toddler storytimes are Mondays at 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m.)
  • Preschool Storytimes have a tremendous line up (not that they don’t have terrific themes every month though): Mitten Weather is Dec. 7th and 8th, Christmas Cookies is on Dec. 14th and 15th, Gifts of Love is on Dec 21st and 22nd, and sadly there are no preschool storytimes on Dec. 28th or 29th (preschool storytimes are Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.)
  • For you Teens out there, we’ve got the Anime Movie Night on Dec. 13th and Swap Party on the 20th, both at 6:30 p.m. on their respective nights.

These should all be super spectacular events, and I hope this alleviates any trouble for figuring out what to do until opening presents for the holidays. I know it does for me.

Best of days!
