A Long, Long Time Ago In a Library Not To Far Away...

THEME DAYS: A NEW THING
It is a desperate time for local librarians since people are getting harder and harder to entertain. I mean, everything is in 3D now, and no one wants to interact further than turning on a Wii. So, in this struggle I thought: "How on earth can we get people to walk into the library and not want to fall asleep on our couches? Fire breathing? Brightly colored shiny paper? Wild coyotes?" Well, there’s no pets allowed, so how about STAR WARS? Everyone either loves or hates The Saga, but everyone knows what it is! (Unless you live under a rock.) In the end, our non-rock dwelling co-workers banded together and entertained our customers by dressing like our favorite characters from the trilogy. R2D2, Leia, Han Solo, and a couple of Jedis attended. We came, we saw, and checked out some books. We also frightened some people. Unfortunately, it was August. So, it was too hot for wookiees and ewoks, but it was droid-worthy! It was an epic adventure, and we all hope to be around for the sequel. Please feel free to comment on any ideas you may have for future theme days.
