Local Author, Elizabeth C. Bunce - World Builder
June 05, 2012
Elizabeth Bunce, author of award-winning young adult novels like Curse Dark as Gold, Star Crossed, and Liar’s Moon, enriches her adventurous tales with fascinating historical details. But her readers soon realize they’re not on the cobblestone streets of Elizabethan England as they may have thought. In fact, sometimes they’re not on the planet earth at all. In Star Crossed, the abundance of moons in the sky is a dead give-away.
Elizabeth calls her brand of fiction "historical fantasy." History is her passion. She’s an extraordinary seamstress and sews herself costumes more historically accurate and beautiful than anything I’ve seen at a Renaissance Festival. Her 16th century, purple damask kirtle could stand up to a time machine test. But in her novels, she can’t resist adding a bit of magic to history and creating fantastic worlds that are, and aren’t familiar.
Elizabeth lives in Overland Park with her husband and beloved dogs. Drop by her website and blog. Then for a great summer adventure on a whole new world, check out Curse Dark as Gold, Star Crossed and Liar's Moon.
