Local Attractions
September 09, 2011
I recently discovered an interesting link on the mymcpl.org website. From the home page you can access Online Resources. In this section you can choose Web Resources where there is a Kansas City Area link.
If you click on Attractions there is a list of various museums and landmarks. You can check out each location's home page for more information, such as hours of operation, cost, and special events. My family has visited several of the places listed. We particularly enjoyed the Arabian Steamboat Museum, The Liberty Memorial Museum of World War I, and the Vaile Mansion. Each of these places offers things of interest for children and adults. After reading about some of the other places, I want to check them out too - especially the new additions at the Kansas City Zoo.
On this same link you can also check out local events, colleges and universities, libraries and archives, news and media, sports, and communities. There are a lot of interesting places to visit and things to do in Kansas City and surrounding communities. If you are looking for something new to do on a weekend or for a Fall vacation, maybe this list can help you get started.
