Life Changes with MCPL
December 02, 2010
I have always been a reader. Throughout each stage of my life, I have use books to find comfort, gain knowledge, and sometimes, just to realize I am not alone. After I met my husband, I realized how much becoming a mother meant to me. After many years of trying, I finally gave in and started consulting my old stand-by: Books! It was books like,The Garden of Fertility and The Conception Chronicles, that helped me realize that I was not alone, and that there were things I could do to try to have SOME control over my future motherhood.
In May of this year, I discovered (to my extreme joy) that I had finally got my wish: I was pregnant! While this was something I had looked forward to for years, I will admit: I was scared spitless! So, again, I found myself perusing the shelves at the Red Bridge Branch looking for books to learn what was going on with my body. I will say that there were many books that really helped me feel much more at ease and prepared for the ongoing confusion that was my body.
As I enter the final stages of my pregnancy, I am again consulting books. This time for all sorts of fun stuff! Baby Space, for decorating the baby's room! Not to mention, all sorts of games to play and showers to plan!

Of course, I find it also a great help to get all sorts of advice and knowledge on things that every parent should know about.
While I am preparing for a major life change, I find it very comforting to know that my library will be there with me, with resources to walk me through every stage of my child's development.
