Let MCPL Help You Get a Grip on Your Budget
August 13, 2010
For years, I've toyed, off and on, with having a budget. Recently, I have taken the very serious step of incorporating it into every facet of my life. After reading a long list of self-help books on financial success, saving money, etc., I have a grip on most of the spending. After reading over and over, the suggestion to "give up the morning Starbuck's," I chose the next two steps: cutting back on eating out and taking meals and snacks to work that were prepared at home. These steps led me to the Online Catalog to investigate the cookbooks for inspiration and ideas. Books on soups, sandwiches, salads, crock-pot/slowcooker recipes, and, most recently, vegetarian cuisine, have all found their way into my hands. Slowly, but surely, a few changes are being made, all to my better health, both personal and financial!
I can't say that I do this every single day, but I am becoming more consistent. So, whatever it is you want to do with your life, I hope you'll find, as I have, that the library is definitely an excellent place to start. Please, don't wait any longer. What's been on your "back burner"--remodeling, organizing. . . ? If you can't find it on your own, please ask a librarian! Believe me, I work at it every single day. If I can make some changes, so can you! Have fun!!
