Laughing the Miles Away
September 12, 2011
My husband and I just returned from a driving trip down south to visit family in San Antonio and New Orleans. We’ve learned to stock up on audiobooks before we leave, and this time, we were entertained by Garrison Keillor’s Lake Wobegon stories.
Sometimes, it’s nice to just sit and read a good book while my husband drives, but other times, we enjoy listening to books together. I can’t believe that I used to buy audiobooks before I realized that the library had a great selection of them. Now, I make sure to get several before we leave on our driving trips, just in case we don’t like one of them. It sure makes the miles tick by a lot faster, and we don’t get as irritated with other drivers (or each other) when we’re laughing along with a good story.
The Colbern Road Branch has a great selection of both fiction and non-fiction audiobooks. You’ll find Garrison Keillor in the 791.44 non-fiction section. A lot of audiobooks are also available for electronic download onto your computer and music player.
