From Knitting to Needlepoint
August 02, 2012
Summer is winding down, and although we can’t feel the chill in the air yet, it’ll be here before we know it. After an entire season of outdoor fun, are you ready to curl up on the couch and get crafty? There’s nothing quite like sitting by the fire with a quilt or afghan project on your lap.
But what if you get stuck? What if you can’t quite get that stitch right or need some inspiration for your next needlepoint? The Library has you covered! Eleven MCPL branches offer stitching groups where you can learn anything from crocheting to quilting. Bring your current project or pick one up that you’ve set aside, and see it from a fresh perspective. Members exchange ideas and tips while forming a close knit (pun intended) stitching community.
So, pick a branch and try out one of our groups. They’re a great learning opportunity and provide a chance to find a new hobby and make great friends at the same time. Let’s break out those embroidery hoops and get stitching!
