Kansas City Zoo
July 23, 2013
One of my favorite things to do when my kids were small was to go to the Kansas City Zoo. As the years went by, admission prices went up, my kids weren't kids anymore, gas prices went up, and we went to the zoo less often. A couple of years ago, we voted on a zoo tax. More taxes usually don’t have an advantage, but in this case, the zoo lowered its prices for people living in Jackson and Clay counties. Hooray! Now with the price of admission at just $5.00 for those residents; it means more visits!
My favorite exhibit is the red panda. So cute! The lorikeets are also very fun. They give you a little cup to feed them. The birds love the nectar they put in these cups and will land anywhere to get it. Even on your head! Coming soon in fall of 2013: the penguin exhibit! (The reason for the tax.) I can’t wait!
