It's Time to Name the Bear!

Many of you who have visited the Riverside Branch probably have seen our very large, but sadly nameless bear. We love our bear, and as Sarah H. wrote to us: "He has an appetite for reading. He likes to paw through a good book. He is a beary good reader, perusing both short tails and long tales."

Well, the "Name the Bear" Contest has officially started! Over a year ago, we received dozens of names, and it has taken us some time to weed down to the final six choices. Bear is currently manning the voting booth near the Summer Reading Program display at the branch. Names being voted on include:

• Buddy, nominated by Zachary W.
• Edgar Allen Paw, nominated by Lois U.
• Ginger, nominated by Ashley S. and Gwen P.
• Honey, nominated by Hannah E.
• Max, nominated by Kayla R.
• Paws Bearington III, nominated by Emily P.

You can vote by visiting Bear at the Riverside Branch, or by commenting to this blog with your favorite name. Voting will continue through July 31, and the winner will be announced in August. Vote early and vote often (no more than once a day)!
