City Wide Block Party 2010

You are cordially invited to join the Independence Police Department as well as Independence Parks and Recreation in celebrating the 2nd annual Community Night Out against crime.

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010 from 6 PM to 8 PM.

The event will consist of 4 large block parties, hosted by the Police Department and Parks Department. There will be one party in each of the four council districts. The parties will be located at McCoy Park, The Athletic Complex, The Waterfall Park, and Rotary Park. The Police Department will be providing demonstrations of its various units, and will have available officers and commanders on scene to meet with the citizens. The Independence Fire Department and AMR will also be on hand to demonstrate their equipment and personnel. Parks and Recreation will be providing games and activities. There will be raffles for various prizes, including tickets to the Royals, Adventure Oasis, and much more. Drawings will be around 7:30 PM the night of the event, and you must be present to win. (One entry for each family.) Feel free to stop by, and get back in touch with your neighbors.  Bring a lawn chair, and a dessert for all to share (optional).
