Introducing (Drum Roll, Please) SOUPER Storytime
August 29, 2012
After a month-long hiatus, storytime will resume on September 6th at 10:00 a.m., and it’s going to be SOUPER! Last September through July was fantastic. We focused on learning new words. This year we’ll keep learning new words, but we’ll also be going through the alphabet letter by letter. We’ll be saying "goodbye" to the Owls and "hello" to Alphabet Soup!
SOUPER storytime participants will get their very own can of soup posted on one of our special bulletin boards. As we go through the letters of the alphabet, the children who come back will see new letters appear in our giant soup bowl. We’ve got new books and activities to share in each storytime session. Children will sing songs, learn nursery rhymes, and listen to up to 4 great picture books.
Ideal SOUPER storytime participants are between the ages of 3 and 6, but younger or older siblings are welcome too. Parents and caregivers are a necessity though, because the more you participate, the more successful SOUPER storytime will be! Our goal is to help you make sure that your children have all of the skills necessary in order to be ready to read when they begin school. Throughout the year, we’ll be showing you techniques and activities that you can use at home to continue the learning process. We’ll also be letting you know about resources offered by the Library that are fun, educational, or both!
We’re looking forward to offering our SOUPER storytime, and we hope to see you there!
