I Want Candy!

January 09, 2012

Hello, my name is Chloe, and yes, I'm a basket of candy.

I’ve been living it up at the Platte City Branch, and I have to say, we’ve got some pretty sweet things going on around here! Turns out that this year’s RAFT program—You know, Read Aloud Family Time—is featuring my favorite book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It seems fitting since a library is just full of scrumdiddlyumptious delights to please the senses too.

Don't believe me?

Why not stop by to see our chocolate waterfall or the fabulous Wonkavator? Or even take on the ultimate challenge and get yourself entered to win...well...Me!

All it takes for a chance to win my fantastic basket of awesomeness is to let us know that you read two chapter books out loud with your family!

But wait...there’s more!!!!!

You will also walk away with a brand new copy of my favorite Chocolate Factory book, which if you haven’t heard, tells the story of a great guy named Willy Wonka (he and I are good friends) and his famous candy factory. I’ve spent a lot of time there, and let me tell you, it’s a terrific place!

But wait...there’s still more!!!!!

You’ll also be entered in a drawing to win a copy of the DVD Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, starring Johnny Depp (I haven’t met him but I’ve heard he’s pretty cool, too).

As you can see, the RAFT program is a tasty way to spend some time together as a family and teach the kiddos the supreme importance of reading. Now, if you’re in it just for the prizes, the drawing for me and my friends will be at the end of the program in March. Still, the more chapter books you read, the more chances you have to win one of our amazing prizes!

So, why not get started now for a chance to collect your Golden Ticket and all the scrumptious honors and benefits that come with it? I’ll be waiting!
