I Want to Be a Running Grandma!
May 04, 2011
The days are finally getting longer, and the weather is perfect for exercise. It's not super warm outside, but it's just cool enough that you won't get over heated when doing "get-fit" activities.
One of my favorite exercises is running. You go at your own pace, get to experience the great outdoors, and it slims you down fairly quickly. Honestly, I've been pretty laxed on my running regime as of late, but I've come across a great book called Run for Life: the Anti-Aging, Anti-Injury, Super-Fitness Plan to Keep You Running to 100 by Roy M. Wallack. It has inspired me to get moving. Wallack writes, "Run for life's agenda is simple: Run to 100. Not just live to 100 and shuffle along when you get there...Wouldn't that be cool, to run pretty much like you do now, 40, 50, or 60 years from now, long after the average running career ends?" I think that it would be awesome to still be running at 90 years old.
