I Love Indian Stories
June 08, 2012
I don’t know how I stumbled upon this love of Indian authors. Maybe, it is because I love Indian food. Maybe, it's because I think saris are so beautiful. I am a self-confessed foodie, but I don’t see myself cooking Indian food in the near future. The colors on every sari that I have seen have been overwhelmingly beautiful, but I doubt that one will ever be hanging in my closet.
I’ve been sharing a few of my favorite Indian authors with several of our customers here at Riverside. Among them is Jhumpa Lahiri, who wrote The Namesake and the Pulitzer-Prize winning The Interpreter of Maladies. Another story I just loved was The Space Between Us by Thrity Umrigar. And, another Indian story which I’ve read over and over is A Good Indian Wife by Anne Cherian.
And if you like Bollywood movies, you may like to read Shobhan Bantwal. She writes contemporary Indian romances, and they all have a happy ending!
Come see me at Riverside, and I’d be glad to find them for you!

Yes, I think I've read
Yes, I think I've read everything by her. In fact I recently re-red The Forbidden Daughter.
Suggestion
Have you read Full Moon Bride by Bantwal? I loved it.
