I Can't Believe What I Found In Our Catalog!

Many of our customers are way too young to remember the old TV soap opera Dark Shadows. I was five when it premiered and was only ten when it was cancelled, but I remember being scared witless when it aired. My parents were actually very protective of our TV viewing, but I can still remember being scared TO DEATH when I saw Barnabas Collins on TV as a child.

I'm still afraid to put my bare ankles to the floor on the side of the bed at night. That's where all of the creepy-crawlies hide, under the bed!!!!! I also still have to sleep with the covers pulled up to my neck in case a vampire may be tempted.

Well, much to my delight one day, I realized that MCPL has all five seasons of Dark Shadows in our library collection. If I watched it now, I'd probably think it too cheesy for words, so I won't go there.

But even better, Tim Burton is currently directing a theatrical release of Dark Shadows, starring my VERY FAVORITE Johnny Depp!! It's due out sometime in May, and I'll be looking forward to it in the meantime. And keeping my ankles off of the floor.
