How We Were Freed

February 13, 2012

Interested in learning more about the experience of gaining freedom in the antebellum South, as well as during the Civil War? MGC’s got a class for that! How We Were Freed: From Indentured Servants to Slavery will offer insight into this experience, touching on Native American Freedmen, as well as on different ways slaves were able to obtain their freedom. This class will be presented by professional genealogist Kathleen Brandt on February 23, 2012 at 7 p.m. at the Midwest Genealogy Center.

This is just one of our programs that are geared toward the Sesquicentennial Anniversary of the Civil War. You will want to check out our other offerings listed in the Events section and register now!

I missed this presentation and would like to know if the presenter might have any leftover handouts or is considering doing this again.
