The Hobbit
November 26, 2012
"In a hole in the ground, there lived a Hobbit…" If you know this quote, right now your heart is probably racing with excitement and a barely contained squeal of glee just escaped from your lips. The day is finally here: Director Peter Jackson has turned The Hobbit into an epic movie trilogy! Some people just don’t understand our excitement: "It’s just a movie," they say. But we’ve been waiting for this for years, some of us since 2001 when we first saw those gorgeous blue eyes of Elijah Wood staring down at us from the big screen; some of us since the 50s when J.R.R. Tolkien first published this extraordinary novel.
But regardless of when you became a fan, the upcoming movie has many a Middle-Earth geek quivering with excitement. And, as you have probably guessed, many of your local librarians fit that geeky description! There are several branches of MCPL hosting Hobbit celebrations around the KC area before the movie release. Registration is required for the programs, so sign up today, and come join the fun!

THE Hobbit is the best book ever if you want alot of adventure, excitement, and have a lot of time to spare because you will never be able to put that book down.
WOOHOO

ridiculous!
I understand that Lord of the Rings was a trilogy. Those were three large books with a very complex story line. On the other hand, The Hobbit is ONE, SHORT book for children. Making it a trilogy is nothing but a money making gimmick!
a trilogy?
What?!? My husband and I are already really excited to go see it. I have been reading about frodo and bilbo since I was 17. I am pinching myself thinking of a full hobbit trilogy becuase it's too good to be true.
The Hobbit
It is one of my favorite books of all time!
