Ho Ho Ho! Santa's Comin' to the Library!
November 29, 2012
Can you hear what I hear? Santa Claus! And Mrs. Claus, too? Since when does she make house calls? I thought she always stayed at the North Pole to keep track of the elves' shenanigans. Do you know why elves make the toys and never get them? My theory is that they are always naughty enough to keep them from getting presents but nice enough to not get a lump of coal. I'm sure they keep her very busy, but this is a very special occasion!
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be coming down from the North Pole to pay a visit to the Parkville Branch so that all of the good boys and girls can hear a fun Christmas story. Probably the best part of it all is when the kids get to tell Santa what they want for Christmas!
Sure, when I was little, I was pretty skeptical that Santa even existed. My six older sisters had me convinced at a very young age that Santa Claus wasn't real! Sad day, right? Right! When I was little, I would have given my Red Power Ranger's left arm to see Santa up close (the real Santa, not a fake Santa like those guys in the mall, though they sure are convincing!). I think what always got me most was the bit about the letter. I'd sent Santa these very detailed letters about what I wanted, and about ten days after Christmas, the letter would come back in the mail box. I guess you just have to see him in person to be sure he knows what to make you.
So if your brother or sister has you doubting Santa's existence, then please hurry on down here to join us for this wonderful celebration! Just be sure to sign up so you can save your place in line and tell Santa just what you want this year!
