Here's a Series, There's a Series

June 28, 2010

So you may have already read them.  You may have already read them forty-times-each-and-love-every-second-of-every-one-because-its-the-best-series-ever.  Or you may not have  picked one up yet for one reason or another…  but just in case, today we’re listing out the series (drum roll, please….).

Harry Potter

Quite frankly, this is one of my favorites.  I’m a fan.  I’m not to the forty-times-each point, but I’ve re-read these books often enough to say, once again, I’m a fan.  And this is coming from a literature major and a librarian (which, in my happy mind, and the fact that somebody decided to let me write this blog, gives me the authority to say the series is pretty good stuff – though they tell me that’s only opinion)

  • Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
  • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

If you’ve read them before, what’s your favorite?  Have you seen the movie(s)?  Stop by the branch and we can compare notes… you get extra credit if I learn something new about these books in the process (head’s up, extra credit consists entirely of knowing you’re quite the Potter fan, and maybe, I don’t know… a sticker, if you ask nicely).

Stop in to find these books at the Blue Ridge Branch… and if we don’t have ‘em here, we will be happy to put one or all of them on hold for you!  Or, if you’re not into Pottermania, it just so happens that – us being a library and all – we have a few other books, here and there, you might want to read.
