Health Databases

August 13, 2012

Have you ever left the doctor’s office and then remembered a question you needed answered? Or, maybe you are curious about a health related issue you heard about in the news - don’t Google it! MCPL health databases will give you factual information you can rely on.

Health & Wellness Resource Center is a great place to easily find answers to most common health questions. You can learn about a disorder such as diabetes, find information on an upcoming medical test, or read about the latest fad diet. You can also search for health organizations, or look up over-the-counter medications, prescription drugs, and herbs.

Health Reference Center will help you learn about today's most pressing health and social issues, including the causes, cures, key research, medical terms, symptoms, treatments, and trends of each field of study. Find explanations of 1,700 common medical tests, including how they are conducted and what you should know about them.

Physicians' Desk Reference Electronic Library will help you search for over-the-counter and prescription drug information by brand name, indications, contraindications, and side effects. Most entries include a description, photo, drug interaction information, and more. It also includes information on homeopathic remedies.

ReferenceUSA HealthCare can help you find information on over 800,000 doctors and dentists. You can search by name, specialty, age, gender, patients per week, medical school attended, board certification, and geographic location.

If searching through a database seems like a daunting task but you need answers, any staff member will be happy to assist you. We are here to help you access the information you need.
