Halloween Events
October 15, 2012
It’s that time of year again—fall is all around us with crisp, fresh air, rainbow trees, and little goblins looking for places to gather treats. As always, MCPL and the City of Blue Springs have some fun activities to offer.
For the littlest ghosties who like the season but not the scares, MCPL will be hosting a Not–So-Scary Halloween Show at the Blue Springs North Branch on Thursday, October 18 at 7:00 p.m. Join Dino O’Dell and the gang for some fun songs and a not-so-scary holiday story. All ages are welcome! Be sure to wear your costume and register ahead of time. You can register online, or you can call the Blue North Branch at 816.224.8772.
If you enjoy being mystified, the Grain Valley Branch will host Tricks and Treats: Magic With Eric Vaughn on Saturday, October 27 at 10:00 a.m. Bring the whole family, and let Eric amaze you with creepy tricks and brain-teasing treats! Registration is required. Sign up online, or call the Grain Valley Branch at 816.228.4020.
For kids ages 7-13, the Blue Springs North Branch will be hosting a Pumpkin Carving event on Halloween Day at 2:00 p.m. Pumpkins will be provided…you just need to bring your spooktacular imagination! Be sure to sign up ahead of time to hold your spot, though. You can register online, or you can call the Blue North Branch at 816.224.8772.
Last, but certainly not least, the Blue Springs Parks & Recreation Department is offering two opportunities for safe trick-or-treating this holiday season. The "Boo Springs Harvest Fest" will be held on October 25 in downtown Blue Springs on Main Street, between 10th and 12th Streets. "Trick-Or-Treat Street" will be held on Halloween night inside Vesper Hall. Both events offer trick-or-treating as well as other fun Halloween activities. For more information about either, you can call the Parks and Rec Department at 816.228.0137, or visit them online.
Happy Haunting!
