Half Empty or Half Full?

July 30, 2012

Do you look at the world with rose colored glasses, or do feel like the storm clouds are always chasing you? A mud puddle might get my car dirty, but bring the greatest amount of joy to my children. Not feeling so great might change my plans and trap me at home, but it can also be very cherished downtime to cuddle in bed and read books. Burnt dinner, ugh that was a mess, but it is also a memory my kids still giggle about. Electricity just went out at home, how about hide-and-go-seek in the dark? How do you look at life's little mishaps? Is your glass half empty or half full?

Here are a few great quotes from books, movies, and famous people. Do you recognize them? It’s all about perspective.

"Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans." John Lennon
"In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun." Mary Poppins
"A day without sunshine is like, you know, night." Steve Martin
"No, I didn’t come this far to be breakfast." Marlin (Finding Nemo)
"I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work." Thomas Edison
"This isn’t flying, it’s falling with style." Buzz Lightyear (Toy Story)
"A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference." Eyeore (Winnie-the-Pooh)
"Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened." Dr. Seuss
