Great Programming

Who doesn't love learning squishy songs about frogs, crawdads, and other Missouri amphibians? Nobody can do silly songs and movements like the group WildHeart. Accompanied by their daughter, Sophia, the award-winning duo of Jan and George Syrigos entertained the staff and customers of the Raytown Branch with lively songs and actions about some of our favorite amphibians in their program Songs With a Splash. What a great way to learn and be entertained at the same time. With squeals of delight, the children and some of the adults got up close and personal with tadpoles, frogs, toads, and crawdads. The snapping turtle, although part of the show, remained safely in its container. Watching a toad consume a live earthworm is quite fascinating, especially after one has had their lunch……Ew… It's too late to catch one of WildHeart's exciting shows this summer at MCPL, but they'll be back to charm us next year with their newest program, Song Safari. Watch for upcoming information on this exciting and fun show in 2011. Meanwhile, you can visit their interesting and user-friendly website www.wildheartmusic.com
