Great Art Lives At the Library
November 10, 2010
We also have books on some famous artists like Claude Monet and Charles Russell. Most of these books contain many color plates that show the artists' famous works. Some also show the artists' processes through their sketches and preparation drawings. A few books also explain the historical and political statements inserted into paintings by the artists. We also have videos that explain and celebrate artist’s accomplishments. There are many resources at the library to help people enjoy art.
Artists have decorated their environments, recorded events, and expressed their emotions through art for centuries. One of our beautiful art books is titled The Magic of Monet's Garden. Monet's actual garden was a significant feature of many of his works of art. This book pictures his garden, and then shows the paintings that were the celebration of what Monet saw and shared.
If you stop by the library today, you can be transported from the times of Leonardo da Vinci, to the studio of Thomas Hart Benton. Materials here are sure to fuel your imagination!
