Did you know that the average time a child (ages 8-18) spends watching television per day is 4 ½ hours, while children this age only spend 38 minutes reading any printed material (books, magazines, or news articles)?
Do you see a problem with this? Reading helps a child develop their language skills so they can communicate better with others as they get older. If they are spending the majority of their time watching television, how are they going to learn the skills they need to make a better future for themselves? Reading is by far the better option.
