Get Your Gears Turning and Learn Something New
November 30, 2010
An engaged brain is a great resource, and there is no better place to engage your brain than the library. Live programs, online resources, and - of course - books are all here ready to help you start a new hobby, learn a new language, or prepare for a new career.
Throughout December and January, the library will be giving you plenty of opportunities to learn all sorts of new things. Live events offers the chance to learn such things as smart shopping, interviewing, and container gardening. There are programs each week across the MCPL system.
Online Resources and Research Databases on the library's website also have much to offer the eager learner. Each week throughout these two months, we'll post on a new database perfect for helping you learn a new skill, hobby, or career.
Last but not least, look for "Get Your Gears Turning" displays at your local library, or ask a staff member for recommendations on materials that can match your desire to learn something new with your interests.
Whatever route you choose, do yourself a favor and get your gears turning. Your engaged brain will thank you.
