Get Ready for Storytimes and Homeschoolers @ the Library!

Starting in September, our weekly programs will be starting up again at the Edgerton Branch!

Here at Edgerton, we have Family Storytime programs for all ages. Storytimes at MCPL offer a variety of book related experiences for young children. They strive to be developmentally appropriate, and can include picture book reading, storytelling, music, flannel board presentations, finger-plays, short videos, and/or simple crafts.

Storytimes will begin Wednesday, September 7 at 10 a.m. Here is what we have planned for the first month:

September 7, 2011, Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.
Back to School/ Buses

September 14, 2011, Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.
Circus

September 21, 2011, Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.
Apples

September 28, 2011, Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.
Scarecrows

Homeschoolers @ the Library (formerly Discovery Club) will begin on Thursday, September 1st at 1 p.m. These programs are open to all, but are designed for children ages 7-12. Length is generally 30-60 minutes, and the programs include guest speakers, crafts, art, music, videos, science, reading, library skills, animals, etc.

Here is what we have lined up for the first five weeks:

September 1, 2011, Thursday at 1:00 p.m.
Game Day
Get to know your fellow Homeschool friends a little better and maybe meet some new ones! We will play games and catch up with each other after our summer break. We will also enjoy some ice cream sundaes, so remember to bring your favorite topping to share with the group!

September 8, 2011, Thursday at 1:00 p.m.
Pioneer Days
Get ready for Edgerton’s Pioneer Days celebration by learning how to make butter like a pioneer and having fun with other pioneer activities.

September 15, 2011, Thursday at 1:00 p.m.
Biomes: Freshwater
In this six week series, we will learn about a few of the biomes found on Earth. This week we will learn about Freshwater biomes, and do some fun activities. 

September 22, 2011, Thursday at 1:00 PM
Biomes: Marine
In this six week series, we will learn about a few of the biomes found on Earth. This week we will learn about Marine biomes, and do some fun activities.

September 29, 2011, Thursday at 1:00 PM
Biomes: Desert
In this six week series, we will learn about a few of the biomes found on Earth. This week we will learn about Desert biomes, and do some fun activities.
